What can PRP Treatment be used for?
PRP treatment can be used for many different conditions. The treatment primarily stimulates stem cells and encourages growth of cells where it is injected. The areas that we commonly treat using PRP at our clinic includes the following:
Eyes - dark circles and eye bags
Facial rejuvination - reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles and encouraging facial skin tightening
Scar reduction - reduces the appearance of scars and encourages scar healing
Stretch marks - encourages healing of stretch marks
Skin tightening - PRP treatment can be used to tighten loose saggy skin and encourage natural collagen production in any area of the body
Cellulitis - Thighs / Buttocks
Acne & Acne scars
Hair restoration - please click here for more information
Are the effects immediate?
No, we recommend a minimum of 3 treatments to see visible results, however, some people have excellent results with fewer treatments too.
Does it hurt?
PRP treatment involves taking a small blood sample from your arm, similar to what you might have done when you have a blood test at your doctros. After separating the plasma from the blood, it is re-injected back in to your scalp. This process uses a very fine, short needle, so there is minimum discomfort for you. We also use a local anaesthetic cream to help reduce the sensation of pain.
Are there any side effects?
PRP treatment uses your own blood cells to stimulate hair regrowth, there is a very low risk of side effects from this treatment. The treatment is carried out using sterile syringes and needles so the risk of infection is minimised as much as possible.
What are the risks?
PRP treatment has a very good safety profile which is why we make it our first choice in hair restoration treatment. Whilst hair regrowth is not guranteed using this treatment, we have seen some excellent results.
