How does the hair restoration treatment work?

We provide hair restoration treatment using a combination of platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) injections with prescription strength licensed hair regrowth tabelts (Propecia).

The PRP is obtained through extracting a small sample of blood from your arm and then separating the plasma from th blood and re-injecting the platelet rich plasma (PRP) back in to the hair follicles. This procedure stimulates stem cells and encourages natural hair growth. Visible results can be seen in as little as 3 treatments.

By combining PRP with an oral prescription medicine which is licensed and proven to stimulate hair regrowth, the results are further enhanced. This combined treatment will improve hair regrowth in a natural manner without the need for taking hair grafts and undertaking transplants, and associated scarring.

Prior to being treated you will be provided with a comprehensive consultation with an experieced consultant to establish the most appropriate treatment for your hair.

Waht is PRP?

Yes

Does it hurt?

PRP treatment involves taking a small blood sample from your arm, similar to what you might have done when you have a blood test at your doctros. After separating the plasma from the blood, it is re-injected back in to your scalp. This process uses a very fine, short needle, so there is minimum discomfort for you. We also use a local anaesthetic cream to help reduce the sensation of pain.

Are there any side effects?

PRP treatment uses your own blood cells to stimulate hair regrowth, there is a very low risk of side effects from this treatment. The treatment is carried out using sterile syringes and needles so the risk of infection is minimised as much as possible.

What are the risks?

PRP treatment has a very good safety profile which is why we make it our first choice in hair restoration treatment. Whilst hair regrowth is not guranteed using this treatment, we have seen some excellent results.
